Hewlett Packard  (HP) has unveiled the Slate 500, a Windows 7 Tablet costing $799. Similar to the iPad the Slate 500 has a gesture sensitive touchscreen with no keyboard, but is mainly targeted towards business users. Adobe announces AIR 2.5 for TV

Adobe has announced AIR 2.5 for TV, Tablets, Smartphones and desktop operating systems. AIR (Rich Internet Applications) is a key element of Adobe Flash and helps the developers to create standalone applications across devices and platforms. The new version of Adobe AIR is supposed to support smartphones and tablets based on Android, iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS. It also supports desktop OS such as Windows, Macintosh and Linux.

The much awaited 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup is hardly 4 months away and the first match is to be played on 19th of February 2011. This is the 10th edition of the World Cup cricket and the first match would be played between co-hosts India and Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, which is in Bangladesh. 2 groups comprising of 14 teams would be fighting out for the World Cup Cricket title and this edition of the cricket World Cup is sure to evoke some extra enthusiasm.

A recent Study has stated that passive smokes are at risk of getting their genes altered and in the process more prone to lung diseases and other health complications. Scientists from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York found out that genes that carry the cells of airways  are affected by the smoke that is taken by the passive smokers and this increases the chances of lung cancer.

At last the prayers of cricket fans have left its impact as the rains stayed away today (Saturday). With the match to be held tomorrow, everyone feared that the rain would disrupt the cricket match between India and Australia, but today it was really  a sunny day in Kochi and the rain is expected to say away for a couple of days.

The arrangements at the Kochi International stadium is almost complete and security forces have surrounded the stadium to make sure that no unwanted incidents occur at the venue. The curators also seem to be sweating it out hard to make the pitch as best as possible. The new Indian Team jersey was also displayed inside the stadium and the light sky blue colored Jersey sponsored by Nike really looks great.

One of my friend visited the stadium today and he had taken some snaps from the stadium and I would like to share it with all.

Tendulkar recently scored his 6th Double Century in Test Cricket and that too against the mighty Australians. Even though Sachin Tendulkar is 37 years of age, the enthusiasm and hunger for runs is the same as when he was 16. Some of his skills might have diminished, but he has converted his game to a new level with some easy strokes and smart run making without too much effort.

In the recently concluded test series agains Australia, he scored his 6th double century in the second Test match at Bangalore. In the course of his innings he also became the first batsman to score 14,000 runs in Test cricket. The only man who comes near his achievement is Australian Captain Ricky Ponting and he is around 1800 runs away from Tendulkar. His innings played a major role towards an Indian Victory and Australians got whitewashed 2-0 in the Test series. Everything seemed to be fine just before a week for the India Vs Australia ODI at Kochi JawaharLal Nehru stadium, but the heavy rains since last 2 days have drawn a shadow of doubt before the 1st ODI cricket match between Australia and India. The match is scheduled to be on 17 October (Sunday) and the organizers fear that the rain will play havoc at the venue.
