Finally the 1983 World Cup Cricket (Prudential Cup) saw a new and unexpected winner in India which was led by the legendary all rounder Kapil Dev. India lifted the trophy by beating the mighty West Indies in an enthralling final. This defeat deprived the West Indies from winning their 3 back to back Word cup. This also proved to the world that the West Indies were beatable and India just did that in style.

The second edition of the World Cup Cricket was held in England in the year 1979. The event was participated by 8 cricketing nations such as West Indies, Pakistan, Canada, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England. The event started on June 9th and Ended in June 29th. There were 2 groups consisting of 4 teams each and the top 2 teams from each groups qualified to the semi finals. All the matches were played 60 overs per side.

The defending champions West Indies yet again won this tournament convincingly and West Indies Captain Clive Llyod lifted the cup for the second consecutive time. England, Pakistan, Australia and Canada were placed in Group A and West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and India formed the group B.

The first World Cup cricket was held in 1975 which was won by the mighty West Indies. It was held in England from 7 June to 21 June 1975 and had 8 participating countries. The participating countries of the 1975 World Cup cricket included Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka & East Africa.  All the matches were played 60 overs per side with red ball and the teams wore the traditional white uniforms.

West Indies lifted the first World Cup cricket beating Australia in the final by 17 runs. Batting first West Indies scored 291 for 8 wickets and the Australians were all out for 274. Clive Lloyd was the first captain to lift the world cup and this was the begining of yet another big revolution in the cricket world. In the Semi Finals Australia beat England by  4 wickets and West Indies beat New Zealand by 5 wickets.

The Indian cricket team for the 2011 World Cup Cricket has been announced and as usual the selection has surprise inclusions and exclusions. Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be captaining the team which comprises of old war horse such as Sachin, Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan. Cricket experts  around the world says that this is one of the best Indian team for a World Cup championship due to the talent and experience the team possess.

India’s Sreesanth recently bowled on of the best ball of his cricketing career, when he dismissed Jacques Kallis in the second test against South Africa. This was one of the best ball by a fast bowler in 2010, which left the great cricketer Jacques Kallis really speechless. Kallis is such an amazing batsman with a great technique, but this amazing ball by Sreesanth was really unplayable as he ended up losing his wicket.
