Euro Cup 2012 – Growing Injury List Worries England’s Steven Gerrard

The growing list of injuries in the England squad is really worrying captain Steven Gerrard prior to Euro Cup 2012 Championship. A good number of England players have gone out of the squad due to injuries and the latest one to join this line is Gary Cahill. Euro Cup 2012 soccer championship is just few days away and would be kicked off on 8th of June 2012.

Gary Cahill was injured during a friendly match with Belgium at Wembley on Saturday and Cahill had a strong collision with Belgium’s Joe Hart. Cahill is reported to be suffering from double fracture in the jaw, making his Euro Cup 2012 campaign to an end. Some of the other names in the England team that have been ruled out of the mega event are third-choice goalkeeper John Ruddy, Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard.

Even though England won the friendly match 1-0, these injuries have caused a major setback for England’s dream of winning the Euro Cup 2012 title and the England captain Gerrard is really angry with the way the players have been injured at a most crucial time. England cannot expect to field a full strength team in the championship and the team needs to work really hard to get on with the replacements.

England is all set to make their first appearance at Euro Cup 2012 on 11th of June and they would take on France at Donbass Arena stadium in Ukraine. England skipper really feels angry after losing its key player on behalf of the warm up matches and is really doubtful about the team’s performance in the tournament.

Diehard fans have also blamed the English Premier League (EPL) for the growing list of injured players in England’s national team.  With the absence of these players, England has to really sweat it out, if they are really serious about making a strong impact in the Euro Cup 2012 championship.  Otherwise, they would not be able to enjoy any memorable moments of this soccer extravaganza.
