The first World Cup cricket was held in 1975 which was won by the mighty West Indies. It was held in England from 7 June to 21 June 1975 and had 8 participating countries. The participating countries of the 1975 World Cup cricket included Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka & East Africa. All the matches were played 60 overs per side with red ball and the teams wore the traditional white uniforms.
West Indies lifted the first World Cup cricket beating Australia in the final by 17 runs. Batting first West Indies scored 291 for 8 wickets and the Australians were all out for 274. Clive Lloyd was the first captain to lift the world cup and this was the begining of yet another big revolution in the cricket world. In the Semi Finals Australia beat England by 4 wickets and West Indies beat New Zealand by 5 wickets.
