Spain has become the 8th nation to win the Soccer World Cup when they beat Netherlands 1-0 in a tense match in the Soccer City Stadium that was dragged into extra time. The lone goal for Netherlands was scored by Andres Iniesta in the 116 minute of the second half of extra time. Spain was in an aggressive mood in the first 15 minutes after which the Netherlands took off and started playing with some sorts of muscle power, which led to some serious fouls and making the referee busy lifting the cards. Overall the match saw 14 yellow cards and 1 red card. Dutch defender John Heitinga got his second yellow card in the 109th minute to see the way out of the pitch. The Dutch received nine yellow cards and had to play a man short after the dismissal of John Heitinga.

The 2010 world cup semi final matches will start a few hours from now and the four teams would fight it out to earn a place in the finals. The four teams that will fight it out in the semi finals are Netherlands, Uruguay, Germany and Spain. So it has become more easy to predict the 2010 soccer world cup winners as there are only 4 teams left to select from. Majority of soccer fans all over the world would put their money on Germany. Netherlands stands as the second favorite and Spain follows. Germany are in their top form and are miles ahead of teams like Netherlands, Spain and Uruguay.
