World Cup 2014 – Switzerland, France and Argentina Register Wins
In three matches of Group F and Group E, Switzerland, France and Argentina registered their first victories in the 2014 world cup defeating Ecuador, Honduras and Bosnia and Herzegovina respectively. Both the three matches was indeed competed very well by the teams playing and it was really matches worth watching. Even though the matches were not high spectacular, it still had some good footballing moments which the fans could cherish.
In the Group E match held at Estadio Nacional de Brasilia in Brasília, Switzerland defeated Ecuador 2-1 in a match that was pretty much dominated by Switzerland. Ecuador made the first lead in the 22nd minute when Enner Valencia netted the goal and left the Swiss players disappointed. But Switzerland equalized in the 48th minute through Admir Mehmedi which really brought them back into the match. The leading goal was scored by Haris Seferović after 3 minutes of the second half, making sure that Switzerland registered their first win of the 2014 world cup.
In another Group E match at Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre France crushed Honduras 3-0 which gave too much hope for the France fans of their team making a great progress in the 2014 world cup soccer. Karim Benzema scored the first goal in the 45th minute and 3 minutes later France again improved their goal levels when Noel Valladares netted the second goal for France. Karim Benzema again scored in the 72nd minute which made sure that France finished the match with their heads high.
In a much awaited Group F match between Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former managed to win by a margin of 2-1, even though Argentina did not exhibit a performance that was expected from a team of such calibre. Sead Kolasinac scored for Argentina in the 3rd minute and after that Bosnia and Herzegovina made sure that they did not concede any goals in the first half. The really played well against the Argentinians and helped the fans realize that Argentina had a large room for improvement if they were serious at winning the cup this time.
Argentina changed their tactics in the second half and this change really paid off well for them. Lionel Messi scored the second goal for Argentina in the 65th minute which made sure that Argentina will not lose this match easily. Vedad Ibisevic scored the lone consolation goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 85th minute, but they could really take pride from the fact they managed to keep Argentinians at bay for most of the time during the match.
